The process starts with you having a need for a web site. If you come to me I will honestly tell you what it will entail to deliver what I understand of your idea. The communication part of the process is crucial to making the transition from a desire to have, resulting in having what you desire.
There are three distinct requirements that must be met in order to complete the task. They are: the securing of a registered domain name, the securing of a web hosting service, and having web pages to place on the world wide web (WWW). I can do all that for you if you desire or I can simply make and/or maintain your web pages for you, if that is your only requirement. Once your requirements are known and agreed upon, I will provide you with those services.
I will make your pages the way you want them. Although I use some simple templates, I will not restrict myself to any template. I write all my own code free hand rather than using a program that throws out canned web elements with fill in the blank features similar to the things one might find in those social networking web sites. Since I do write all my own code the sky is the limit. If we can think up a presentation, it can be made available to you. If I can't do it, I will tell you hey I can't do that. No need to pretend I am the best at what I do, though I am good at it and will provide you only what I am capable of, with should be the results you want. If in fact I am not able to provide you with the capability you need, I will know it right away and won't blow you a smoke screen. If so I will simply tell you I am unable to do that for you and we can separate from the ideas one way or another without wasting your time and energy.
I am rather fluent in HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). In the areas I may be lacking I have good reference to provide all the answers to make it happen. I have dabbled a bit with JavaScript, though I will not say I am at this time fluent with that type of code. I know it offers a lot of flexibility which I am desirous of learning, as I will as time goes by. But again, no smoke or pretending will come from me. If I am unable to fulfill your wants, I will simply tell you up front.
The first part of our relationship will be communicating your needs. After I have an understanding of the site you want, we can talk about costs and come upon an agreement, and with a little legal exchange, we or I, can start to work. The truth to the process is that we have to become partners of sorts. I can't ″make up″ the content in words that you wish to express in a web site, thus the written text, the graphic design and the photographic work will have to come from somewhere other than myself for the most part. There are two possible exceptions to this. They are photographic editing and graphic editing. I can edit photographs that you might want to use in a site. That is change their size and simple cropping. I can do more detailed photo editing though I prefer to keep it simple. I can also design graphics such as a logo, if there is ample communication for me to take on an understanding of what you want. Thus I say partnership, as you will have to provide the content while I will provide the part that will convert your words and other into the web presentation you want, hopefully the site of your dreams.
Once we have an agreement I will begin working on your web site's design. I will allow you to see and approve everything I do before officially putting it up onto the WWW. Then I will ask and hope to receive any and all desired changes that you identify. We will do this until you are satisfied with the result. To me it is no big deal to fiddle with the fine details that will make it yours. The possibilities are rather endless when it comes to design layout. Still there are some preferred and well used design schemes that can be followed. Also, the entire spectrum of visible color is available to be used to your liking. Colors can be used in most parts of the design to bring a richness to the presentation.
